"Two may keep counsel, putting one away"
Allusion
Act 2,
Scene 4
Lines 169-172

An explanation of a proverbial expression in Act 2, Scene 4 of myShakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.

Romeo

What sayest thou, my dear nurse?

Nurse

Is your man secret? Did you ne'er hear say,
'Two may keep counsel, putting one away'?

Romeo

Warrant thee, my man's as true as steel.

This proverbial phrase means two people can keep a secret, if one of them is killed.
