"use me at his pleasure"
Wordplay
Act 2,
Scene 4
Lines 132-133

An explanation of the unintended innuendo made by the nurse in myShakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, Act 2, Scene 4.

Nurse

And thou must stand by too, and suffer every
knave to use me at his pleasure?

Another malaprop by the nurse results in an unintentional innuendo. She meant to accuse Peter of standing by and allowing every knave to insult her, “to abuse me as he pleases,” not “use me at his pleasure” with its sexual connotation.
