An image of Juliet's eyes as stars in myShakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, Act 2, Scene 2.

Romeo

Two of the fairest stars in all the heaven,
Having some business, do entreat her eyes
To twinkle in their spheres till they return.

In the 16th century it was still widely believed that the stars were fixed to a gigantic sphere that revolved around the earth. Romeo imagines Juliet’s sparkling eyes taking the place of two of the stars in this sphere.
