Hamlet's intentional misinterpretations of Guildenstern's messages in Act 3, Scene 2 of myshakespeare's Hamlet.

Guildenstern

The queen, your mother, in most great
affliction of spirit, has sent me to you.

Hamlet continues to have fun with Guildenstern by intentionally misinterpreting his words. Here, when Guildenstern says that he has been sent to Hamlet by his mother, he means as a messenger. But Hamlet pretends that Guildenstern has been sent to stay permanently at his home and welcome’s him accordingly.
