Act 4,
Scene 2
Lines 37-42

An explanation of Cassius’ and Brutus’ use of the term “brother” in Act 4, Scene 2 of myShakespeare’s Julius Caesar.

Cassius

Most noble brother, you have done me wrong.

Brutus

Judge me, you gods! Wrong I mine enemies?
And if not so, how should I wrong a brother?

Cassius

Brutus, this sober form of yours hides wrongs,
And when you do them —

Brutus

                                            Cassius, be content.
Speak your griefs softly. I do know you well.

Though they call each other “brother,” they're actually brothers-in-law, as Cassius is married to Brutus' sister.
